What this notice covers

This notice explains how we handle personal information when you visit fuelpricecalculator.co.uk, use its location services or contact us. The calculator is free to use and does not require an account.

Information used by the calculator

When you enter mileage, fuel economy, fuel price and other cost details, calculations run in your browser. We do not send those numeric inputs to a database or save a journey history. Values held in the page are cleared when it is reloaded or closed.

If you request a driving route or nearby stations, the location text or postcode you enter is sent to our Cloudflare-hosted service. It passes the required location information to Postcodes.io and, where needed, Photon (operated by komoot). Coordinates for route endpoints are sent to the OSRM public routing service. Station lookup uses Photon/OpenStreetMap data. Those services may process request metadata and retain logs under their own policies. They receive a request from our service, rather than a direct request from your browser.

Please use a town, public destination or postcode instead of entering a person's name, confidential information or a full home address. A postcode can still be personal information in context. External map links are opened only when you click them; the map provider then processes your visit under its own policy.

Website delivery and security

Cloudflare processes technical information to deliver and protect the website. This may include IP addresses, request times, requested URLs, browser information and security signals. We do not enable visitor analytics, advertising trackers, fingerprinting or session recordings in this version.

When you contact us

We receive the details in your email or call, such as your name, email address, phone number and message. We use them to answer your request, investigate a reported issue and handle follow-up correspondence. Email is delivered through our business email provider, IONOS. Do not send payment-card details or sensitive information that is not needed for your enquiry.

Purposes and lawful bases

You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. We will consider your circumstances and the applicable legal rules.

Providers and sharing

Providers relevant to this build are Cloudflare (hosting and security), IONOS (business email), Postcodes.io (postcode lookup), komoot/Photon (place and forecourt lookup), and the OSRM public demo service (driving routes). The government DESNZ dataset supplies national average fuel prices; no visitor information is needed to retrieve that dataset. We do not sell your personal information.

We may disclose information to professional advisers, where legally required, or when necessary to establish or defend legal rights. Provider information is available at Cloudflare, IONOS, Postcodes.io, komoot and OSRM.

International processing

Some service providers operate globally and may process information outside the UK. Where we make a restricted international transfer, we must use an applicable lawful transfer mechanism, such as an adequacy regulation or appropriate contractual safeguards, and assess any additional measures needed. You can contact us for information about relevant providers and safeguards. Clicking an external website link is subject to that website's own practices.

Retention

We do not retain the numeric calculator inputs or deliberately store route or postcode requests in our own application database. Request bodies exist while the request is processed. Infrastructure providers may retain operational and security logs under their own schedules and account settings.

We keep enquiries while needed to respond, handle follow-up questions or resolve an issue, and review closed correspondence for deletion. Relevant correspondence may be retained longer where required by a legal obligation or reasonably needed for a dispute or a continuing business relationship. Ask us about a particular record if you need more specific information.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law gives you rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection and portability. Where consent is used, you may withdraw it. Some rights have legal conditions or exceptions. We do not make decisions about individuals with legal or similarly significant effects using solely automated processing.

Email info@impactseo.co.uk to exercise a right. We may ask for proportionate information to confirm identity. We aim to respond within the applicable statutory period, normally one month. You may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Cookies, advertising and changes

See our cookie notice. No Google AdSense, Google Analytics or other advertising/analytics service is active in this build. We will update our notices and implement appropriate consent controls before introducing these features. This notice may change when the service or its providers change; the revision date appears above.
